Driver in custody after leading cops on chase in Brampton: police

One person is in custody after making a run for it during a traffic stop and leading officers on a foot chase in Brampton, police say.
Peel Regional Police say the incident happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Friday when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Queen St. and West Dr.
But the driver attempted to flee from officers and was involved in a collision with another vehicle, police said. The driver then tried to make a getaway on foot but was taken into custody.
No injuries were reported in the incident but police are advising drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible.
Police have not released any details about the suspect.
