Driver hits pedestrian and flees scene in Brampton

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Main St. in Brampton this morning (Aug 13) and then fled the scene.

Peel Regional Police say they received a call at 10 a.m. about a collision involving a vehicle and an adult, male pedestrian in the area of Quarry Edge Dr. and Main St North.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian and reportedly fled the scene before police could arrive.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they do not yet have a description of the vehicle but the investigation is ongoing. Witnesses in the area at the time of the collision are encouraged to contact Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311.
