Driver hits hydro pole, bus stop in Bowmanville

A driver has been taken to hospital after losing control of his vehicle hitting a pole and a bus stop in front of the Bowmanville Mall today.

Witnesses say there’s debris scattered all across the road and King Street is expected to be closed for several hours for the clean-up and police investigation.

Durham Police are advising people to avoid the area as some of the downed wires were still live.
