Driver found passed out in stolen vehicle, Brampton man faces impaired charges

A Brampton man faces several charges after a report of a driver found passed out in a vehicle in Caledon.

The report of a vehicle stopped on the side of a road with the driver “slouched over the steering wheel” came around 2 p.m. on Feb. 4, Caledon OPP said.

Police found the vehicle and driver around Boston Mills Road and Mississauga Road. They discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Daniel Fitzpatrick, 36, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Failure to comply with a release order

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Impaired driving is dangerous regardless of the source of impairment, drugs or alcohol, the OPP reminds the public.
