A driver in Mississauga rear-ended an emergency response vehicle and rolled their truck on Tuesday night, resulting in minor injuries and a pair of traffic charges.

The detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Mississauga says that workers from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) were working to a close a lane on the westbound Highway 401 because of an earlier collision. The driver of the truck then struck one of the MTO vehicles.

The driver was charged with careless driving and having liquor readily available in their vehicle.

According to real-time tracking, the HOV (high-occupancy vehicle) and left lanes of the westbound 401 express were blocked near Hwy. 410 and Mavis Road, due to a collision that occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. All lanes were fully reopened by 10:50 p.m.
