A motorcyclist is dead after a hit-and-run collision in Brampton early Saturday morning, and Peel Regional Police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Bovaird Drive and Yellow Brick Road shortly before 4 a.m. following a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the other vehicle left before officers arrived and has not yet been located.
Investigators remained at the scene Saturday morning, forcing the closure of Bovaird Drive in both directions between Main Street and Yellow Brick Road while evidence was collected.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the investigation is complete.
Police are expected to provide additional details later Saturday as the investigation continues.
