Driver escapes as vehicle goes up in flames on Brampton streets

Firefighters are battling a vehicle fire in Brampton and police are asking drivers to stay clear of the area until the situation is under control.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Peel Regional Police say first responders were called to a stretch of Steeles Ave. West near Clementine Dr. in Brampton.
When crews arrived they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, police said. The driver made it out of the vehicle but police did not say whether they suffered any injuries in the fire.
No injuries have been reported but traffic in the area is expected to be delayed for some time as emergency crews are on the scene. Police are asking residents and drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible.
