Driver doing 114 km/h nabbed in Milton, Halton Hills police safety blitz

Halton Regional Police have caught several drivers speeding through construction zones in Milton and Halton Hills recently, including one who was traveling at almost twice the limit.
Police report that during yesterday’s blitz (Nov. 24), a driver was pulled over after being clocked doing 114 km/h in a 60 km/h area that was a posted construction zone where workers were present.
The driver’s car was impounded and fines were issued.
Earlier, police report six other vehicles were stopped for various violations in a contraction zone including one for failing to move into another lane for an emergency vehicle
Police warn that drivers who go too fast through contraction zones, where the speed limit is reduced, will face serious fines.
Construction zone speed limits can vary but usually fall between 50 km/h and 70 km/h on highways but could be less on secondary roads.
