Driver dies in two vehicle crash in Brampton

One driver has died following a two-vehicle crash in Brampton this morning.

Peel Regional Police say the collision happened shortly after 6:30 a.m., near the intersection of Highway 50 and Coleraine Drive.

Police say both vehicles involved remained at the scene, with one driver seriously injured.

Around 8:30 a.m., officials confirmed the death of the driver, who sustained serious injuries. Details such as the driver’s age and residence have not been released by police.

The following roadways are currently closed:

  • Highway 50 is closed between Countryside Drive and Castlemore Road.
  • Major Mackenzie is closed westbound from Highway 427.
  • Coleraine Drive is closed at Highway 50.

Drivers are asked to take alternate routes.
