Driver caught travelling more than double the speed limit in Hamilton

A driver has been charged with stunt driving and speeding on a major road in Hamilton.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Hamilton police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Sawmill Road in Ancaster earlier this week (June 4).

The vehicle was measured going 112 kilometres per hour in the 50 km/h zone, according to police.

The person’s driver’s licence was seized and suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

“Hamilton Police continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to speeding within our city,” the department said in a statement.
