Peel Regional Police (PRP) poke fun at a driver who was recently caught travelling at almost 130 km/h with a group of people in his friend’s car.

Members of PRP’s Road Safety Services shared a story today (Aug 21) about a recent roadside stop in the region that ended with a driver getting his friend’s car impounded.

The vehicle was seen driving at a speed of 128 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone, almost 80 km/h over the speed limit.

The driver received an immediate 30-day license suspension and their friend’s car was towed and impounded for 14 days.

“If you’re ever in a 50km/hr zone and decide to travel 128km/hr with your boys in your friend’s vehicle, just tell your friend he or she can have the car back in 14 days from the pound,” PRP Road Safety Services said.

Police did not release details about other charges the driver may face.
