Driver Arrested After Hitting and Injuring Pedestrian in Brampton

Police have made an arrest following a failure to remain at a hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman in Brampton.

Police have made an arrest following a failure to remain at a hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman in Brampton.

The incident happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2. The victim was crossing Steeles Avenue at Bramalea Road when she was struck by a small black car.

The vehicle fled the scene without stopping, police say.

Brampton woman Linda Prakash, 45, was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where she remains in serious condition.

She sustained a fractured femur, two broken legs, a fractured pelvis, several broken ribs, and a fractured skull, according to police.

On Thursday, April 5, police arrested 21-year-old Brampton woman Tiffany Keddie, 21. She is charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.

Keddie is scheduled to appear at court on Monday, May 7, 2018.
