Local lovers of barbecue ribs and chicken will get two chances to enjoy the Burlington Ribfest this year.

After taking last year off, Canada’s largest ribfest, run by Burlington Lakeshore Rotary will return for its three-day, Labour Day weekend stay at Spencer Smith Park.

In addition, a special one-day, drive-thru ribfest is being held at Burlington Centre at Fairview St. and Guelph Line on Victoria Day, Monday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The drive-thru concept was tried last year to great success in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Touting safety first, attendees never left their vehicles, making their way around Burlington Centre before lining up for their to-go meals.

Expected to provide meals at this year’s event are Camp 31, Billy Bones BBQ, Uncle Sam’s BBQ Stand and Sticky Fingers.
