While many thought they’d seen the last of them, an increase in demand means the drive-through COVID-19 testing is returning to St Catharines at the hospital next week.

This is in addition to the already existing one at Greater Niagara General assessment centre in Niagara Falls.

With the St Catharines site opening September 21, the region is responding to higher numbers of cases being driven by the highly contagious Delta variant during this Fourth Wave.

Also as the region heads into Autumn, a traditional allergy season, as well as cases already shutting down classrooms within the two school boards, health units believe early detection is important for managing the fourth wave.

The operating hours for both locations will be 8 am to 4 pm, seven days a week, including all holidays.
