Police are asking for the public’s help in investigating a chain-reaction multi-car crash on the 403 in Hamilton earlier this week.

According to OPP, the collision occurred on Wednesday (March 3) on the westbound 403 near the Aberdeen exit at around 8 p.m. after a black pick-up truck hauling a dresser and drawers reportedly lost its cargo out of the truck bed which led to the multi-vehicle crash.

An occupant of one of the cars involved in the crash remains in life-threatening condition as a result.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt with the OPP said investigators are aware that the driver of the black pick-up truck stop at the side of the highway at the time of the crash and got out of the truck on the shoulder.

Schmidt said the man is described as a white male who was wearing a black jacket at the time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash who might have dashcam footage to reach out to the Burlington OPP detachment which is investigating the crash.

Schmidt also urged the driver of the truck, who he says may not have realized the severity of the incident at the time, to reach out to police.
