Drag Bingo and Puppy Yoga part of St. Catharines university’s Frost Week fun

When Brock University holds their Frost Week (as opposed to Frosh Week) fun, some of the activities are seasonal traditionals – free skates and the like – while others are colourful, out-of-left-field offerings.
After all, why do ordinary yoga when you can do Puppy Yoga? Regular Bingo? Forget about it, Brock has Drag Bingo (and a show), instead.
The activities running all week (January 16 to 21) are organized by Student Life and Success and the Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) and are meant to further connect students with each other and University and community partners.
Yasmine Hejazi, BUSU’s Vice-President, Student Services, told Brock News the full slate of activities is the perfect way to kick off the Winter Term.
“What better way to welcome the incoming and returning students to campus than with a week filled with fun events for everyone to participate in?” she said. “These events will warm students’ spirits and help reconnect them with the Brock community.”
The week’s wide variety of events will help students to learn more not only about the University, but also about the region, said Sarah Vaz, Orientation and Community Engagement Co-ordinator in Student Life and Success.

“Frost Week is a great opportunity for students who are new to Brock to learn about the resources available to them, while the numerous events also welcome current students to discover winter activities and supports they may not have interacted with previously,” she said.
While there will be a link to all activities at the bottom, two really jump out.
The Puppy Yoga Session at 10 am in the BUSU Club House TH 252A on January 20 is an opportunity to join a class where “puppies crawl all over, take naps on your feet and melt your heart – you’ll never forget this class.”
“Unwind and forget your worries as you spend time and pet adorable pups. These pups’ enthusiasm and innocence are infectious and will help you become more optimistic and less preoccupies with everyday mundaneness and worries.”
Easily the most colourful and raucous event of the week will be the Drag Bingo and Drag Show on January 18 from 7:30pm to 11:30pm at Isaac’s (downstairs).
Hosted by Badger favourite Vanity a la Mode, the night will kick off with Bingo followed by a spectacular Drag Show by Troyboy Entertainment. “Be entertained and win sexy prizes!”
The Bingo runs 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm while the drag show will run 9 pm to 11:30 pm, hosted by Troyboy Entertainment featuring TroyBoy Parks, Sapphyre Poison, Violet Seductions Parks, Eboni Parks, Diamond Hyman, and Queen Victoria Parks.
The $5 ticket will include a pasta and salad buffet to carbo-load for the night’s fun.
