A pair of major corporate entities – one with a long history in Oshawa already – are moving into office space in the CIBC building in the heart of the city’s four corners at 2 Simcoe St. S.
McAsphalt Industries, a long-time partner of the city down at the harbour, and technology solutions provider VBC Networks will both be moving into the building on July 1.
McAsphalt is a leading North American infrastructure solutions company providing products, services and technologies that support the construction and maintenance of transportation and industrial infrastructure. The company serves customers across Canada, the United States and international markets.
VBC Networks specializes in contact centre services, network infrastructure and professional certification testing.
VBC has operated a secure testing facility in Toronto in 2014, supporting professionals across Ontario in obtaining industry-recognized certifications and credentials.
The company will have approximately 40 to 50 testing stations and once fully operational, they anticipate hosting 500+ test candidates per month, said Oshawa Ciouncillor Rick Kerr.
“More ‘feet-on-the-street’ is great news for our downtown businesses,” he said.
