Downtown Hamilton school under hold and secure order for police investigation

Police say that at no time was there a threat to public safety and the order was a precautionary measure.

Hamilton Police have placed an elementary school in the city’s downtown on a hold and secure order Wednesday (Oct. 7) as they investigate an incident nearby.

Just before 12:30 p.m. police Tweeted that Queen Victoria Elementary School is under a hold and secure order while police are in the area investigating an undisclosed incident in the area.

The school is located on Forest Avenue in Hamilton’s Corktown neighbourhood.
