Hamilton Police say an elementary school in the city’s downtown has been placed under a hold and secure order as they work to resolve a situation in a residence nearby.
Staff and students at Queen Victoria Elementary school are safe and sound but the school is in lockdown mode Monday (Sept 28.) morning.
Hamilton Police tweeted just after 9 a.m. Monday that they are on the scene investigating a “contained situation inside a residence in the area of Charlton/ Walnut.
“As a precautionary measure, Queen Victoria PS has been placed in hold and secure.”
The nature of the incident has not been disclosed.
