Downtown Hamilton power outage leaves hundreds in the dark

More than 1,000 homes and businesses in Downtown Hamilton are without power Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 16).
Alectra Utilities is reporting an outage in the area of Wilson Street to Young Street from John Street to Ferguson Avenue in the lower city.
Approximately 1,079 customers in the area without power.

The utility provider says crews are on the scene for repairs and the cause of the outage is under investigation.
Residents can expect a return to power around 5 p.m.
