A popular lunchtime live music series is coming back to downtown Hamilton this summer.

Summer Promenade will be returning to Gore Park next week following a two-year COVID-19 hiatus.

“In 2022, after over 2 years of restrictions on live events and gatherings, the return of Promenade means that much more,” a blog post on the Downtown Hamilton BIA website said.

“We are happy to once again encourage downtown residents, workers and visitors to take some time out of their day to enjoy free, live shows all summer long.”

The 14-week lunchtime festival, which kicks off next Tuesday (May 31) will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. up until September 1.

Live music performances will happen between noon and 2 p.m.

Members of the public can also play some of the large-scale games available at the park, including chess, checkers and connect four, or peruse some of the goods and services being offered up by community vendors in attendance.

“Having the familiar lunchtime festival run for three days a week hopefully will help bring back a sense of normality to downtown along with the encouragement to once again gather and share in a free outdoor event,” the BIA blog said.

“Not only does Summer Promenade provide an opportunity for us all to enjoy some afternoon sunshine, but it also offers local bands the opportunity to get out and play once again.”

Vendors looking to participate in Summer Promenade can reach out to the Downtown Hamilton BIA via email.

More information about the festival series, including the full lineup of musicians, can be found on the BIA’s website or by following their social media accounts.
