Armed carjacking arrest in Mississauga.

Two people were seriously injured in a west Mississauga shooting one month ago that now has police appealing to the public for help in nabbing the culprit.

Peel Regional Police say two people were shot on Monday, May 22 at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Bristol and Creditview Rds.

“Two victims suffered gunshot wounds and … both victims are in serious but stable condition,” police said in a news release this morning (June 21).

Police didn’t reveal any more details about the shooting, which occurred in an area of the city plagued by gun violence and deaths last year.

Investigators from the Peel police 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are now turning to the public for help in identifying the shooter.

Anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage is urged to call police at 905-453-3311, ext. 1133, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

One of Mississauga’s highest-profile murders in 2022 took place only a couple of blocks to the north of the May 2023 shooting.

Peel police are still hunting the killer of Mississauga gas station attendant Pawanpreet Kaur, who was gunned down at close range last Dec. 3 as she worked at the Petro-Canada on the northeast corner of Britannia and Creditview Rds.

At the time, the slaying of Kaur, 21, of Brampton, was the latest incident in a wave of gun-related violence that swept the northwest part of Mississauga in 2022.

That deadly shooting was among a rash of similar violent incidents that shook west Mississauga neighbourhoods last year.

Last Nov. 2, a man was shot to death near Meadowvale Community Centre in the city’s north end.

The victim was found on a pathway south of the community centre, which is located just east of Meadowvale Town Centre shopping mall.

On two occasions last year, Peel police set aside Saturdays to go door to door in Meadowvale-area neighbourhoods–and Erin Mills as well–in search of information related to various shootings, some of them fatal.
