The Hamilton healthcare partners say they continue to make progress in vaccinating members of the community who fall into the Province’s COVID-19 Vaccination Framework.

As of Monday (June 14), nearly 415,000 doses of COVD-19 vaccine have been administered with more than 71 per cent of Hamiltonians over the age of 18 and nearly 50 per cent of youth ages 12-plus receiving a vaccine to date.

Meanwhile, individuals who received their first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine are now eligible to book their second dose appointment at an interval of eight weeks or more.

Those who have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine can choose to proceed with the below options in order to receive a second dose vaccination.

A second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine can be booked through a pharmacy or primary care provider. For individuals wanting an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as their second dose, an appointment can be booked through the online portal at hamilton.ca/VaccineBooking.

Public Health Services recommends that everyone who is eligible for a vaccination receive the first vaccine that is available to them.
