Donations for Caledon minor hockey ‘misappropriated;’ Brampton resident charged

A Brampton resident faces charges after a fraud investigation involving a Caledon minor hockey organization.

The Ontario Provincial Police said it received a report of a fraud involving the hockey organization in Caledon in Nov. 13.

Funds donated to the minor hockey organization were allegedly misappropriated, the OPP said.

Police have charged one person in connection with the investigation.

Frances Brown, 45, of Brampton, was charged with mischief, fraud over $5,000, and criminal breach of trust.

Brown is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Dec. 18 to answer to the charges.
