Halton Police have charged Oakville Dr. Clarence Clottey with sexual assault.

A doctor who works out of a clinic that serves patients in Oakville and Mississauga has been charged with sexual assault.

Halton Regional Police say the person arrested was working out of Bristol Family Physicians, located at Bristol Circle and Winston Churchill Boulevard.

Police say they were contacted after a woman complained she was assaulted during a visit to the clinic.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims

An arrest was made on Tuesday.

Clarence Clottey, 64, of Oakville, is charged with one count of sexual assault. He has been released pending a court appearance in Milton.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case or others to contact them at 905-825-4777, ext. 8970, or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.

In 2016, Clottey was charged with six counts of sexual assault but was acquitted at trial.

In 2020, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario restricted the doctor’s ability to control how he examines female patients.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
