New costco application for Oakville

It was no joke when Halton Regional Police were called to the Costo in Burlington to quell a disturbance on April 1.

According to reports, the incident unfolded just after noon when a customer created a commotion when confronted about an item that she didn’t intend to pay for.

Staff at the Brant St. outlet had noticed the woman was hiding items in her clothing and was attempting to leave the store without paying.

When the woman approached the checkout area she was asked to pay for the goods, and that’s when she began behaving erratically and causing a scene that scared other customers and Costco staff.

When police arrived the situation quickly de-escalated and the situation was resolved.

The woman was not charged with any crime.
