Discovery of $700,000 in drugs – including 1.6 kilos of fentanyl – results in charges for Oshawa man

The discovery of meth, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl has resulted in multiple charges for an Oshawa man.

Kawartha Lakes Police got a 911 call from a resident around 4 a.m. on June 9 complaining that a guest in his home near Russel and Sussex streets in Lindsay had left with property that did not belong to him.

Officers arrived and searched the area and found the suspect a short distance away. The officer allege the man was carrying the stolen property on him but did not specify what it was. They also said the man provided a fake name when arrested.

Upon further investigation, police said they found numerous drugs on the man totalling around $700,000 in street value including;

  • 1.6 kilos of fentanyl
  • Nearly 600 grams of cocaine
  • Almost 560 grams of meth
  • 12 grams of heroin, and

Shimon James, 29, has been charged with four counts of drug trafficking, obstructing a police officer, theft over $5,000, and breaching a probation order. He will remain in custody until an appearance in a Lindsay court.
