Jurassic World: The Exhibition will stay in Mississauga until May 2024.

It appears people in Mississauga really love dinosaurs.

Extended yet again due to the “phenomenal demand” of the paying public, a 20,000-sq.-ft. touring show that arrived in Mississauga last April and allows guests of all ages to get up close with life-size versions of all types of dinosaurs will stay in town until May 5.

The collection of prehistoric giants that has taken up residence right beside Square One Shopping Centre had its stay initially prolonged until January.

Now, the creators of Jurassic World: The Exhibition say the huge beasts, and some smaller ones, will continue to roam in Mississauga’s downtown core for another few months.

Life-size versions of the king of dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus rex, in addition to the ferocious Velociraptors and the more friendly Brachiosaurus, and many more (16 dinosaur types in total), are all part of the wildly popular exhibit.

The exhibition is located on a standalone space beside Square One, at 199 Rathburn Rd. W. It’s produced by NEON, a global leader in immersive and epic experiences, and presented in conjunction with Universal Live Entertainment.

The Mississauga opening last April marked the touring show’s Canadian debut.

Organizers said at the time that people were in for a real treat when coming to see the show.

“Humans and dinosaurs have never shared a planet together, but that doesn’t stop our endless fascination with the creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago,” organizers said earlier of the interactive exhibit that features life-size dinosaurs, cutting-edge technology and richly themed prehistoric environments.

“Now, for the first time in Canada, audiences will be treated to one of the most compelling, life-like dinosaur exhibitions touring today.”

Inspired by one of the biggest blockbuster movie series in cinema history, Jurassic World: The Exhibition provides to visitors a “cinematic universe come to life through innovative animatronic technology and immersive installations including Land of the Giants, Creation Lab, T. rex Kingdom, The Raptor Experience, Gyrosphere Valley and more,” those behind the show said earlier.
