The deadline to apply for a Digital Transformation Grant has been extended and small business owners in Halton Hills are being encouraged to take advantage of the Digital Main St. Program as a result.

In February 2021, Halton Hills Council approved a motion calling on the Provincial and Federal Governments to provide additional funding in order to support more small businesses by extending the Digital Main Street Program and expanding the eligibility criteria.

Back in August, the Town of Halton Hills secured a second round of Digital Main Street Funding in order to help additional small businesses that were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to implement another phase of the Digital Main Street program, the town received a total of $45,000 for the Digital Service Squad (DSS) grant.

Initially, the deadline to apply for the grant was Oct. 31, but it has now been extended until Nov. 30, or until funds are fully exhausted.

This program will allow more qualifying small businesses including those that are located beyond downtown main streets, to be eligible for the grant. While not-for-profits and co-working spaces are not eligible to apply, they may still be able to receive assistance from the Digital Service Squad.
