Temporary road closures, lane reductions and limited on-street parking are all in the mix for at least the next week as work crews complete road and other repairs on part of a main neighbourhood street in north Mississauga.

Region of Peel officials overseeing the major repairs on a section of Glen Erin Drive in the Meadowvale area (see map below) said in an online update that the work, which began on Oct. 23, is scheduled to continue until Nov. 10.

That schedule could be impacted by weather, they added.

Until the work is done, motorists and area residents can expect temporary road closures as well as reduction of traffic to a single lane and reduction of on-street parking “when we are actively working on your street,” project leaders said.

“If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions,” they added.

The work is being completed on Glen Erin Drive, between Battleford Road to the south and Gananoque Drive to the north.

Peel officials said the work being done along Glen Erin Drive includes road, curb and sidewalk repairs in addition to the improvement of grassy areas and the removal of old fire hydrants.

It’s being completed after a new watermain was recently installed in the area by work crews.

Officials say the road was also prepped in advance of road resurfacing to begin in 2024 by City of Mississauga workers.

Peel officials added that the City of Mississauga is planning to complete additional roadwork on area streets within the next few years.
