Peel police say they’ve identified the dead body found in Brampton as Heeral Patel, a 28-year-old woman from Toronto.
On Monday (Jan 13), at 5:49 p.m., Peel Regional Police say they responded to a “naturalized green space” in the area of Nexus Ave and Fogal Rd in the City of Brampton after reports that a deceased person had been located.
“Officers attended and confirmed that a person was deceased and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death,” said police. “It was determined that the death was suspicious and our Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau took carriage of the investigation.”
Peel police say the suspect in this incident is the victim’s ex-husband, Rakeshbhai Patel, a 36 year-old man from Toronto.

“Investigators are encouraging him to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.”
