Dead body found near train tracks in Brampton

A person was found dead near train tracks in Brampton on Sunday.

Peel Regional Police said in a social media post that officers responded to the area of Queen Street East and Theatre Lane shortly after 1 p.m., where a human body was located adjacent to the tracks.

Police have not released any information about the victim, including their age or whether they were male or female. The circumstances surrounding the death are also unknown at this time.

A large police presence remains in the area as the investigation continues.

Motorists and pedestrians are being asked to avoid the area.
