Two separate incidents involving the serious injury of a child have led police to lay charges against a daycare worker in Brampton, and investigators say there could be more victims.

Back in September, Peel Regional Police say a 2-year-old boy suffered “a serious injury” while attending a daycare at a home in Brampton.

Police have not disclosed the nature of the injury, but say that during the investigation officers learned of an earlier alleged incident where a 3-year-old girl was also seriously hurt.

Investigators say both incidents happened at the Brampton daycare, which has not been named by police.

A 44-year-old from Brampton was arrested and charged on Jan. 16 and police are urging anyone with information about the investigation to come forward as there may be more victims.

Chereen Zeidan, 44, of Brampton has been charged by Peel police with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The accused was scheduled to make a court appearance in Brampton on Monday.

Anyone with information on this or any similar incident is asked to contact investigators with the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121 ext. 3460.
