The grand opening of Brampton’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant is a little more than a week away, with free food giveaways on opening day.
The American fast food chain got its start in 1946 when founder S. Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
The brand has since grown into a global chain with over 3,000 restaurants, including a soon-to-be opened location in Brampton at the 410 Steeles Business and Retail Centre.
After months of preparations, Chick-fil-A says its first Brampton location will open on Nov. 13.
Each Chick-fil-A restaurant is individually owned and operated, and the Brampton location will be run by Radhika Saigal.
“I’m thrilled to bring Chick-fil-A to Brampton, a place I’ve called home for the past 13 years,” Saigal said in a press release. “I’m eager to be able to serve the community with great tasting food and care, and especially to support Team Members, helping them develop skills and foster their entrepreneurial spirit.”
The grand opening will also feature a “cows will eat free” promotion for one day only.
The promotion is a play on Chick-fil-A Cows advertisements featuring cows who encourage everyone to “Eat Mor Chikin,” and guests dressed in cow attire can redeem the offer for either an Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, 8-Count Chick-fil-A Nuggets, 5-count Chick-fil-A Nuggets Kids Meal, or 8-count Grilled Nuggets.
“Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, guests of all ages are encouraged to join the fun,” Chick-fil-A says.
Chick-fil-A will be open for business as of Nov. 13 in Brampton from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The Brampton location is expected to create between 100 and 110 jobs in the city, Chick-fil-A says.
