A data breach has hit Loblaw customers in Canada, the company says.
Loblaw said Tuesday that it’s investigating the incident.
“After identifying suspicious activity on a contained, non-critical part of its IT network, the company has determined that a criminal third-party accessed some basic customer information such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses,” Loblaw said in a press release.
Loblaw said it’s currently believed that passwords, health information, and credit card data wasn’t compromised.
It’s also believed PC Financial wasn’t impacted, the company said.
“As part of its security response protocol, the company secured its network and customer information. All customers will be automatically logged out of their accounts,” Loblaw said.
That includes PC Optimum. Users had reported issues with the points rebate program on Tuesday.
“To access the company’s digital services, customers will need to log back in,” Loblaw said.
