Dark side or light side, the Force is with new Star Wars™ Oreo cookies

Is it the dark side with you’re with? Or is it the light side? Either way, the force is with OREO and their new Star Wars™ cookies.
The popular cookie brand has joined forces with Lucasfilm to announce the release Wednesday (May 15) of the Special Edition Star Wars™ OREO Cookies.
“The tremendous fandom between Star Wars™ and the OREO brand has made this strategic partnership such a fun collaboration and we hope fanbases of both communities are just as excited about the launch of Star Wars™ OREO Cookie Packs as we are,” said Colleen Bowker, Brand Manager, OREO Canada.
“The OREO brand always strives to connect with our dedicated fans in new and unexpected ways through culturally relevant moments – making this partnership between two iconic properties such a natural fit.”
The Oreos come in identical Star Wars packaging, but in a fun twist cookie lovers won’t know which colour cookie it is they will be getting until they open the pack.
Each pack contains a single colour crème that symbolizes either the dark side or light side of the Force. The only way to find out which is your destiny is to open the pack up.

The red crème or blue crème cookies are infused with “kyber” sugar crystals inspired by the crystals found in a LIGHTSABER™.
Each cookie will also have impressions or shapes corresponding with characters on the dark side and light side.
Dark side packs will have character such as Darth Vader, Darth Maul and a stormtrooper, while Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Princess Leia will be in the light side pack.
In all, there will be 20 different characters, 10 representing the dark side and another 10 the light side.
Star Wars fans will also get a kick out of the artwork on the packaging, which includes original character work hand-painted by legendary illustrator Greg Hildebrandt, a Star Wars™ poster artist since 1977.
The Star Wars™ OREO Cookie will be available at retailers across Canada starting June 10 and will be available for a limited time.
