Dangerous live wires shut down busy Mississauga City Centre intersection

One of the busiest intersections in Mississauga has been shut down for several hours this afternoon after live wires came down into live lanes of traffic.
Describing the situation as a “dangerous condition,” Peel Regional Police say they received reports of downed live wires at Hurontario St. and Burnhamthorpe Rd. at about 3 p.m.
Police say there are no reports of injuries, but the intersection was expected to be closed for several hours in order to complete repairs.
Police urge motorists to use alternate routes.
