Damaged cars leds to search for unidentified Welland mischief suspect

Cars damaged in Welland have led to a police search for the unidentified suspect.

Niagara Regional Police announced this evening that they were looking for the man who damaged 16 cars in the city and neighbouring Pelham. Investigators say he is using an unknown tool to shatter the cars’ windows.

All incidents all thought to have occurred between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m on November 29. The man targeted parked cars in Welland at;

  • Autumn Cr. and Oakcrest Ave., and
  • Heritage Ln. and Countryside Dr.

The man also struck cars in Pelham at;

  • Rolling Meadows Blvd., Vista Dr. and Berkwood Pl.
  • Cherry Ridge Blvd. and Sandra Dr., and
  • Oakridge Blvd. and Concord St.

All areas are quiet residential neighbourhoods. Residents on these streets have provided security camera footage of the suspect and his car.

The suspect is described as a white man with a thin build. He was wearing a winter coat with the hood up. His car is a dark four-door sedan, possibly a Honda Civic.
