The Halton District School Board is reporting eight new COVID-19 cases, including two new schools affected, in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills on Dec. 10.

The Halton Catholic board, however, continues its sporadic reporting, not having updated its website since. Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Based on earlier communication from board officials, this means they’re reporting no new cases, despite overall cases in the province soaring.

There are now 54 active infections among staff and students and 16 classrooms are closed.

The biggest current outbreak is at Central Public School in Burlington, where seven cases are ongoing, up five since yesterday.

When a classroom is closed, students are sent home to quarantine for at least 10 days and learn remotely.

As older cases are resolved, schools are removed from the listing.
