Cyclist killed in Burlington, police search for car that fled the scene

Police have released these images of a car allegedly involved in fatal collision with a cyclist.

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a cyclist was killed in Burlington this afternoon (May 18).

The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on North Shore Blvd. under the QEW bridge.

The cyclist was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead several hours later.

Halton Regional Police say the vehicle allegedly involved in the collision left the area and was last seen travelling east on Lakeshore Blvd. near Joseph Brant Hospital.

Police describe the car as a silver Volkswagen sedan that may have damage to the front passenger side. Investigators have released images of the vehicle allegedly involved.
