Cyclist injured in hit and run in Hamilton

Police are investigating a fail-to-remain collision in Hamilton this morning.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the area of MacNab and Barton Street East for a cyclist who was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the roadway.

The victim, a 57 year old Hamilton man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

“The vehicle involved continued eastbound on Barton St. and then south on James St. fleeing the scene,” police say.

“The suspect vehicle was described as a white pick-up truck.”

The investigation is ongoing.
