Cyclist injured in crash with vehicle in Brampton

Roads have reopened following a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle that left one woman injured in Brampton, police say.

Peel Regional Police say the crash happened in the area of Veterans Way and Fann Drive shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday.

Police say that a female riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The age of the victim has not been disclosed.

The driver remained on the scene, police said.

Emergency crews closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Veterans Way at Kempsford Crescent and said drivers should expect delays. The roadway reopened around 12 p.m., police say.

According to BikeBrampton.ca., there were 169 cyclist collisions between 2017 and 2022 in Mississauga and Brampton. There were no reported cyclist fatalities last year in both cities, according to data from Peel Regional Police, and there were 13 cyclist deaths between 2020 and 2024.
