Cyclist hospitalized, intersection shut down for serious collision in Brampton

One person has been taken to hospital after a collision that shut down a Brampton intersection Saturday morning.
Paramedics responded at 9:38 a.m. to a vehicle that had struck a cyclist at Bramalea Road and Avondale Boulevard, north of Steeles Avenue East.
The cyclist, a male adult, was transported to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
Police say the driver remained at the scene.
The intersection remains closed in all directions. Drivers should avoid the area.
