Cyclist hit by vehicle in Oakville dies in hospital short time later

A cyclist hit by a vehicle on Thursday in Oakville has died.
At around 11 a.m. on Thursday (March 9), Halton Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Upper Middle Rd. west of Eighth Line.
A grey 4-door vehicle was travelling eastbound on Upper Middle Rd. when it struck a cyclist that was heading in the same direction.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and cooperated with investigators.
The cyclist was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and a short time later they succumbed to their injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has since taken over the investigation.
