Cyclist crash closes major road in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police close a major roadway in both directions after a cyclist falls off their bicycle in Mississauga.

Police say they received a call shortly before 2:30 p.m. about reports of a cyclist crashing on Dundas St. West.

The roadway is closed between Robinson Dr. and Mississauga Rd. to allow emergency crews access to the scene.

Police say this was not a collision, but the cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes wherever possible.
