Cyclist and vehicle crash closes major roads in Mississauga

A man is in hospital following a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle this afternoon in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police responded to a crash near Ceremonial Drive and McLaughlin Road.

Police say a cyclist was struck by a vehicle shortly before 4:30 p.m.

The victim, whose age is unknown, has been rushed to a hospital and his injuries are believed to be serious.

The vehicle remained at the scene, while police closed the area for further investigation.

The closure will remain in effect for an extended period, with no estimated time for when it will reopen to motorists.

Drivers are asked to take alternate routes.
