Brampton has unveiled another star-studded lineup for the fifth annual charity game, with current NHL players Dylan Strome of the Washington Capitals and Owen Power of the Buffalo Sabres joining former NHL standouts Ryan Getzlaf, Joe Kocur, Kirk Muller and Cody Hodgson on the ice.
Toronto Maple Leafs legends Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark will once again serve as coaches, while former NHL star and Stanley Cup champion Gary Roberts joins the bench for this year’s event.
The game takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the CAA Centre in Brampton. Doors open at 6 p.m. with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
Organizers say additional current NHL players will be announced in the coming weeks.
The annual event has become one of Canada’s largest charity hockey games, raising millions of dollars in support of the William Osler Health System Foundation and the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s second hospital.
Last year’s event raised a record $6.7 million, and over the past two years, Hockey Night in Brampton has generated nearly $21 million while helping secure a $50-million pledge toward the hospital project.
Among this year’s biggest names is Ryan Getzlaf, the longtime Anaheim Ducks captain who retired as the franchise’s all-time leader in points and assists after a 17-year NHL career that included a Stanley Cup championship and two Olympic gold medals.
Current Buffalo Sabres defenceman Owen Power, the first overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, is coming off a career-best 2025-26 season, while Washington Capitals forward Dylan Strome has also posted career-high offensive numbers in recent years.
Fans will also see former Montreal Canadiens captain Kirk Muller, three-time Stanley Cup champion Joe Kocur and former Vancouver Canucks forward Cody Hodgson take to the ice.
Tickets are now on sale for $36.
Mayor Patrick Brown said the combination of current NHL talent and hockey legends continues to make Hockey Night in Brampton one of the city’s marquee summer events while supporting the construction of Brampton’s long-awaited second hospital.
