A local watering hole will be closing its doors for good this weekend after a 14-year run in Brampton.

The Crown and Lion English Pub at 7985 Financial Dr. in Brampton will be closing for good this weekend, according to a notice posted on the pub’s website.

Management says that the pub will shut down on Sunday (July 30) after more than a decade of serving Brampton.

“On behalf of the entire serving and kitchen staff we wish all our customers the best of health and happiness in the future,” reads the post. “We would like to say thank you to all for your time spent with us over the years.”

The Crown and Lion serves pub favourites like fish and chips, Yorkshire pudding, and liver and onions along with more North American dishes like nachos, burgers, sandwiches and ribs.

The pub not only catered to a wide range of tastes but also different crowds, often holding events like Live Music Fridays, painting nights, and broadcasting soccer games for patrons to enjoy.

The Crown and Lion English Pub will close at 7985 Financial Dr. on July 30. For more information visit www.crownandlion.com.
