Crews work to extinguish fire at a Brampton home

A fire raged through a home in Brampton’s west end Thursday (Aug. 11) night.
Fire crews worked to extinguish the residential fire on Continental Road, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said in a tweet around 10 p.m.

Peel Police and paramedics were also at the blaze. There was no word on injuries.
A video showed flames shooting from the home.

Brampton Fire asked residents to avoid the area as crews work to bring the incident under control.
UPDATE: Just before 11 p.m., Brampton Fire tweeted that the fire is under control. Crews will remain on scene performing overhaul for some time. The intersection of Brisdale Drive and Continental Road will remain closed to through traffic for approximately another 90 minutes.
