Crash sends one man to hospital, major intersection closed in Mississauga

One man was sent to hospital after a crash early this morning in Mississauga.
Two vehicles collided at Burnhamthorpe Road and Dixie Road around 4:30 a.m. today (Jan. 15), Peel Regional Police said on X.
Paramedics took one man to hospital.
The extent of his injuries was not yet released.
The intersection was closed for the investigation.
Police suggested people use alternate routes.
Update: In an update just before noon today, police said the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) have invoked their mandate.
The SIU investigate cases involving police that have resulted in a death, serious injury, or if a firearm was discharged at a person.
